I just got a snap on F80 ratchet from ebay.

The date code doesn't appear on the list - so I am wondering if it is a fake?

It is definately 80 tooth and has the sealed head.

Thanks
Paul

Yes I had seen the list which mine isn't on.

There seems to be a lot new or nearly new F80 and FL80 ratchets on UK ebay at the moment and it concerns me a little that something is dodgy about them

You need to get the China date code chart to identify the new Snappy ratchets.. LOL Thats good stuff.

Great - my mind is at rest then! It is my first Snap On ratchet.

It seems like a really nicely made tool which I got for a good price.

I just got an F80 also - super smooth! Next, try to pick up a TL72 which is the long 1/4" ratchet with 72 gear teeth. It is almost as long as a 3/8" ratchet for good leverage.

I'll keep my eye out for one of those then, I use 1/4" sockets more than any others

Thanks for posting the manufacturing year chart. I just checked mine and my f80 is '07, and my 3/8" f10 breaker bar is '89. However I have a f731 3/8" flex ratchet with no date markings on it at all. It has the older style snap-on logo, the model #, and USA on it. No other markings on it. Anyone know what gives?

Thanks

:twak::Mr.T:Yeah man, China Town is loaded with fake Rolex watches, Prada purses and snap-on socket wrenches.
