I have a cement floor of in a garage nearly 100 years old. Suddenly I'm seeing puddles of a liquid substance, that looks like water, but doesn't act like it. When I put sand in it, the sand turns to mud, then a few days later, a black spot forms. The liquid takes several days to evaporate and it retains its shape even when a stick is dragged through it. I've no idea what this stuff is. It started about 2 months ago.
No car has been stored in the garage for over 30 years. There are no water stains on the ceiling and not puddles near the walls. While there are some cracks in the cement, the puddles are not near or coming from any cracks. It's a two car garage and only one half is affects. Any ideas what this stuff is and what to do about it would be greatly appreciated.
