Hey guys, I just bought the new stinger led version with 425 lumens. I have the older LED with 160 lumens. Do they sell an upgrade for this light to update it? I know the older ones take the 75768 kit, but since my serial number starts with c4, it's not eligible.

I didn't realize anyone was still using those. I remember when the LED was cutting edge, and 100 lumens was earth shattering. The old guys laughed at us for not carrying the Mag Lites and big Streamlights that you could use as a baton if need be.

Heck I'm still using the original xenon Stinger & Stinger HP. The Stinger I put a drop in LED in it, the Stinger HP I converted to LED myself. I did these conversions many years ago though & I have plenty of other LED flashlights. My Stingers are still working fine so they still get used.

Yup, I got it back in mid 2014. My grandfather bought his original stinger off the mac tool truck before the LED version was produced. The one I have produces 160 lumens. I bought it with the piggyback charger. The one I recently ordered was $84 on Amazon, same form factor but newer LED, 425 lumens. I see they make an upgrade kit but not for my "older" led. Would be nice to have two. 425 lumens isn't great for upclose work but having three brightness settings makes the light great for a plethora of things.

I carried .one 5 C cell ,around for years in a prison as my just in case weapon. Before that I had a Bianchi I carried on patrol as an MP. Very nice in those days but as time went on smaller was really more handy.

For what a new module will cost I put just add another $20 and buy a Nitecore P12. Very reliable, nice size and awesome output.

I still have two of the old Stinger XT with piggy back chargers. They are great flashlights that have really stood up to the test of time. I upgraded both of them from the old Xeon bulbs to LED with some aftermarket kit I bought online from Amazon. Here is a video I made on it. I've never felt that the light needed a further upgrade, but I use it for auto repairs, and not police duty.
