I love mine as well. I got sick of using the pull down shop lights at work so I decided to get a pen light. It's more maneuverable in an engine bay than a larger flashlight as well. And having spot but also some flood makes it nice because it's not too overpowering.

At $16.68 with free shipping - you might as well order 3 or 4. You know you're going to lose one or two. {wife, family, friends all seem to walk off with them}.

Actually many of the higher quality LED flashlights are amazing.

I got one a few weeks ago and so far so good. I never liked pen lights and was always a mini mag guy. I got good service out of them. When my last normal one finally went to hell, I bought one with the super bright LEDs. ******* ************* lasted two weeks before it started ******* up. I threw it against the wall so hard no way they would warranty it. Thinking it was a fluke, bought another. Same thing. Switch to the streamlight and other then it is nowhere as bright as the mag light, I'm happy. I hope it last a year or so, I bet it gets turned on 40 timed a day.

I wish Maglite would go out of business. Their stuff is 20 years out of date, dim as **** and the QC is down the toilet.

I once had FOUR minimags fail on a camping trip. Two were brand new in the package, one was lightly used, the other was moderately used.

I've been disappointed by then lately too. LEd versions are rather pricey for what they are.

I just spent a few hours the other day fixing 2 Mag lights and one LED flashlight someone tossed me. In the end they all work but the LED light takes the cake.

I carried one daily til the batteries leaked and got stuck inside. Haven't spent much time trying to get the battery out. I probably should before the corrosion gets too bad.

Stylus Pro is my EDC light and after a few months the paint will wear. Makes no difference to the functionality but it's probably going to matter to some. Mine is completely smooth in some parts of the worn paint so some of the grip is definitely from the paint and not the finish. The clip pops off from time to time. I thought I had lost mine and went to the site to order a new one, they only sell the clip & end cap/button as a combo.

For its size I definitely prefer it over a mag just for the size of the head being smaller and the lens/plastic being recessed. Definitely a better design than the mag light. Neat feature that's probably not a feature, you can turn on the light without pressing the button all the way 'on' just to see something real quick. or to strobe in the dark if you're in danger.

I've used mine tons and carried it for well over a year. definitely the best to carry around if you don't know when you're going to need a light, or need a bigger/brighter one more often. I have a coast and a mag that are both brighter but that comes at a cost of size & weight. I only got mine because GJ talks about it so often. Another tool that didn't really need a review, since we are pretty much all in consensus it's a great light. Nothing against you personally, but several of the most recent reviews posted have been about tools we already agree are good. Would be better to show tools fewer people know about, or know are good, or newer tools.

Yes, just makes them made in the US junk.

The biggest issue of the minimags is the twist head design- if Minimag would correct the issue then the reliability problem would be solved for the most part.

The other issue common to both the minimags and full size mags is they are dim, even the LED versions. Why should I buy a maglite when there are plenty of other flashlights in the same price range but brighter, and to boot, more reliable?

I got tired of unreliable lights and switched exclusively to surefire and streamlight.

They're good little flashlights... I switched to a Fenix LD22 and haven't looked back though. Much much brighter in almost the same size with better battery life.

Here are two of my Streamlights. The Stylus Pro gets plenty of use and the Microstream even more...due to its smaller EDC size. Reliable and plenty bright for most tasks in a compact package. Throw in some lithium batteries for even lighter weight and longer run time (especially in cold weather) and you've got a great little package!

I somewhat agree but my point is if you/everyone else dont e-mail the company and air your complaints then no-one buys their product and then we have another US company closing.

No ******* match here just my opinion.

They are very bright, they will put the stylus pro to shame. I like them very much, other then I have two that each lasted two weeks before they were useless junk. Both met my rage when they became very problematic and I highly doubt mag light would warranty them based on their looks.

This is the Jetbeam RRT01, it is seriously the best EDC light I've ever owned, and I've owned probably two dozen LED flashlights from 10 lumen to 5000 lumen. It has infinitely variable brightness so you're never blinded, which is the problem with all using all these high lumen lights in close quarters. It peaks at 550 lumens, which is plenty for everything but search and rescue.

Infinitely variable brightness is such a game changer, I won't buy another light without it.

You best believe it!

It's the same emitter as all the high powered "1000 lumen" lights are using, just driven at lower amperage. It won't really last long on high because it heats up quickly and the small battery (20 minutes I think is the quoted life), but I rarely use it on full brightness for more than a few seconds at a time, and have a few rechargeables lined up always ready to go. With daily use, I swap batteries probably every two to three weeks.

Here's a few back-to-back comparisons w/ a Surefire E1B (rated at 110 lumens):

Good point; I've realized all LED Maglights aren't the same...I have 2 3x AA cell maglites, older LED ones, that I got for the like $10 at sams club (that's right, 2 of 'em) and while one succumbed to corrosion, they're great lights.
