yes thats an old style. A dealer here still have a bunch of them in stock.
"King ****" and "Berner" still offer them in the plastic and 3K version. The SKG screwdriver just say PH1. Maybe the JIS standard mentioned is the same than DIN/ISO. Maybe there are different JIS standards ?
The text says they also fit pozidrive, so maybe a special tip like the 2-in-1 tips for PH + PZ. I just emailed SKG.

grey tip Wiha, black tip SKG. The Wiha tips "corner" is rounded, the SKG sharp. The flanks look a bit different too. Other than that they seem to be similar. The Felo 502 PH1 driver looks similar to the SKG. The Athlet screwdriver has a sligtly longer flank.

Monte,

Thanks for taking the pictures!

How is the durability of the SKG green handle JIS screwdriver and the other SKG Phillips screwdrivers (two with the blue and black handles; one with the solid black handle)? Have you had the opportunity to use them much?

In Germany, how popular are SKG screwdrivers compared to the ones from Wiha, Wera, and Witte?

Thanks,

Dave

Hey Dave,
I don`t use them, they`re only for the collection so I can`t say anything.
Wiha + Wera are the "top dogs" here. So for the popularity they`re somewhere behind the big "W`s". But sometimes you find the SKG drivers instead of Wiha, Wera or Witte, but probably more often you`ll see them rebadged as "Berner", "Bernstein" or "Factor" for example.

@dave:
got a reply from SKG !
The "Ames" screwdrivers are made for Ames to their specifications.
The tools are a compromise between all the norms (PH, PZ and JIS). There is no tool in the world which fulfills all the norms in one tool. The fitment depends on which screw you use them with. There is no clear answer.

Here for the germans the original email answer: :)

Hallo Herr monte,
