Striking Wrench Adapter

I was browsing a few tool manufacturers sites looking for a couple of items, and I ran across Wright's striking wrench adapter. I don't use 1" drive tools, but I'll be watching patiently for a 3/4" version. A 1/2" version would come in handy for a few spots as well, but I'd worry about that one breaking.

I haven't seen and threads on this, so I thought I would ask what people here think of this little gem.

thats badass! I would love one as it seems can never find the right size hammer wrench when in a bind and need to tighten up a flange..

That is slicker than the snot on a hound dogs tooth! I'd love to see 3/4" all the way down to 3/8" if possible!

I would be in for a 3/4" drive and a 1/2" drive if and when they make it!

Definitely could be useful. A lot of the time I am using a slugging wrench I don't have anywhere near that much room/clearance though.

I posted about these a while back but very few responded I was thinking of possibly making one cause there around $300 which is insane for what it is, a piece of steel

I'd be down for a 3/4" version. I did see this in the Wright catalog. I just rarely use my 1" drive stuff. If I do its with the 1" impact anyway. So a 3/4" striker I think would be handy. Maybe 1/2" but I think the 3/4" would be better.

I'd definitely like one just seems like most of the time when I need a 3/4 slugging wrench there isn't space to get a good swing. Don't know how the slide sledge would do with one of these (another idea someone needs to make...slugging wrench adapter for a slide sledge)

I wonder if I could rig one up with some of the weird old stuff I've gotten from auctions. I've got a few extensions that are male square drive on both sides. Not sure what those were intended for. Maybe if I can find a short one I could weld a bit of bar stock to it as the striking surface and away we go.

Any idea what cost is on that? I sure could use one in 1" and 3/4 and 1/2.

This place may be free to join and post but it sure costs a lot of money.

I've got a few extensions that are male square drive on both sides. Not sure what those were intended for.

Those are for female drive ratchets. Those ratchets usually required removing the drive inserting it from the other side to change directions. Proto still offers female drive ratchets.

I was picturing using a striking wrench adapter and deep impacts for roadside tire changes, and maybe for crank bolts. I like the idea of making my own for the half inch drive. I just might do that.

That would be very handy in 1/2 and 3/8 drive.
Sure would beat hammering on a sacrificial wrench!

Snap On made a 1" drive slugging wrench also. Looks just like the Wright with a male and female square. I picked up an old one but like you guys said other sizes would actually be handy to have around.

I've been tearing into old, cheap ratchets in my metal bin for the square drives. Now I need to find some deals on used slugging wrenches that will just clear the teeth on the drives, or maybe I could just cut the drives down. I plan to do a lot of tack welds with time to cool between them, and maybe it will hold. Even if it doesn't, it's a fun project.
