Ok this isn't really garagey so if it gets removed I understand. But some on here may find this info useful. I used some simple cleaners to strip paint off of some steel automotive parts and it worked better than I expected. ZEP, Purple Power and Simple Green all lye based cleaners(I think) soaked at full strength. The ZEP worked fastest at just over an hour and SG longest at idk I went to bed LOL
