I got this shaper about 20 years ago and it's been stored in the back of my shop once I made sure it was working correctly
I have no idea how old it is or the value. I'd like to get an approximate age. It seems to be an 8" and has the vise and tool hoklder.
Picture attached of the tag. I'll try to get some pictures of the shaper in a day or two.

That tag looks like a military or plant asset tag and not the manufacturers tag

Most shapers are WW2 vintage or older as the knee mills really took hold after the war and the market for them was nil.

A quick search has a sharpe general depot ran by the army starting in 1941 in Lathrop California

I first ran a shaper almost sixty years ago. An old machinist told me, "You can make most anything with a shaper; except money."

FWIW, the smaller Atlas, South Bend, et al, shapers sell for decent bucks.

Generally, it would have only received a depot tag if it was assigned there, rather than stored, or was rebuilt or overhauled there. A rebuild tag would say that though...
Right. After the war a lot of the depots were shuttered and equipment liquidated or transferred to other depots. It would have a new tag assigned to it if it was transferred from one to another and assigned there. Why buy a new one when you have a practically new one setting elsewhere especially as budgets were slashed.

Attached are some pictures. It's near a wall so it was hard to get photo's ov the name.
It's made by Havir Manf. of St Paul Minn. It is 120 V.
I plan on selling it so was looking for an approximate price to ask.

Thats exactly the one I've got. Forgot to add it's a Shape-Rite Model 8B 8"
Any idea pf what an asking price should be? I'm willing to transport it up to 300 miles + travel cost from Brookings Or. 97415.
Open flatbed car hauler.
That encompasses Portland to Santa Rosa Calif.
