For those of you with Strong Hold Cabinets: are the doors removable? If so, do they simply swing out and lift off? Or are tools needed?

They lift off. You will likely need a rubber mallet to get them going. Also if moving one I advise you to remove the shelves along with the doors. They are extremely heavy and this makes it way easier to maneuver them into place.

After you open them more than 90 degrees they lift up as kngelv states. The door is protected when its closed because it sits in a metal pocket all around.

If you did remove the shelves be careful to save the hardware. Its a short carriage bolt, where the square shank and head fit into a keyhole slot on the inside of the cabinet. It appears that they could be dropped down and lost forevermore if one wasn't careful and they were loose and bouncing around. I've never actually lost one in this manner but the concern is still in my mind.

I've only moved them with forklifts, but be careful if you are using other manual methods (!)

Extremely nice cabinets though! Congrats :)

Good thought on the bolts. I just loosen the nut then bang upward with a rubber mallet in the corners to remove the shelves. I never take the nut off the bolt. I then put the hardware to the side. I have one two shift Strong Hold that weighs 762 pounds empty. I also have three Lyons that are around 500 pounds each. I have had to move them a few different times. Disassembly makes it far easier. If you have a second person they are pretty easy to move empty. One person uses a floor jack and the other sort of balances it while the other maneuvers the jack. I recently put RaceDeck flooring in my garage and this time rented a pallet jack so I would not have to empty them when moving. At work we have hundreds of them and like matt_i said - a forklift is the way to go.

Thank you both for the input! This cabinet is extremely heavy (but also extremely well built). Looking forward to getting it all setup!

You’re gonna love it

I’ve got two of these, both with six drawers and four shelves.
I would love to have one or two at home with the drawers. I have that cabinet at work but with solid doors. The drawers are great. My ones at home are shelf only.
