I see my closest Northern Tool store has strongway jacks now, Never heard of them. Anyone have experience with that brand? I can get the arcan for about same price with sale price and grand opening discount. Which would you get? Both are made in china by whats printed on the box. Just looking to upgrade from my old harbor freight model. :headscrat

Strongway is a brand new brand I believe made specifically for northern tool. The arcans are known to be good, so just go that way!

I'm thinking Northern is fading out the big torin name for the strongway name. I'm not going as far to say same product, different name on the sticker. Just new house brand.

The Strongway model 46228, 3.5 ton jack is made by Torin and it uses an u-cup instead of the cheaper o-ring and o-ring retainer used by the Arcan. So, in that respect, it is better than the Arcan, but the Arcan may have a stronger frame (at least looks better) than the Torin . The 46228 lifts 21 inches.

The Strongway model 46226, 3 ton should be a good buy although it only lifts a little over 18 inches. It also uses an u-cup as the main seal.
