what I have is a building about to fall apart. The foundation is good, the telephone pole structure is fine. The rest is left wanting. Will be taking it down to poles, raising the rear to match front and would like to eliminate anything in between. bought some 1/4" wall 2" piping that id like to weld up to truss the place. My question is does this layout seem reasonable to do and what am I looking at for deflection. Will be welding 2-20' pipes with sleeves over joints to get full span. May need to weld a little upward deflection in to compensate for roof load. Roof will be 1/2" ply on 2x8 with roof paper with taped joints. Might be reusing metal for roof if I can reuse holes, if not will use shingles. I am sure this may not be all the info someone needs to figure the answer out...so I you need more info, let me know.
Guy I bought the pipe from said he would make metal buildings with larger spans with this same pipe. He kinda got me going on the truss type. Would it be preferred to widen the distance between top and bottom runner closer to the pole?
top plate on top of pole is to hold in place. will be bolting the vertical to plate that is bolted to pole. may just bolt thru pole to other pipe. will be using 3/16" steel for that.
please throw me some advise for this.
link to pictures showing interior of building as I was cleaning. was a freaking mess. Had rodents the size of my cat living in the walls. Also pictures of what I was proposing to do with truss.
