I'm not sure if I should be adding to another "help me identify the brand of this hammer" thread or start my own one. After reading around for a few weeks, I've decided to start one. I hope I'm not cheesing anyone off. I've had this hammer lying around for a while and I'm finally getting around to cleaning it up. I can't find anything on the web that identifies it by the wording. It's a 1 lb. BP with what I believe to be stamped

SOLID CAST STEEL
ENGLISH MAKE (or MARF.)

Above the words is some sort of snail? or flower? I don't know. Anyone have any idea off the top of their head? Thanks for all your wealth of knowledge!SolidCastSteel.jpeg

OK, OhKay! Good spotting the snail! It's the 1st snail brand hammer I've seen or heard of. I have and have had lots of wrenches from them I never knew they made hammers.

Porkis, welcome to GJ! You should also post this in "Hammer Time" or other hammer thread as other hammer aficionados (hammer heads) will be sure to see it also.

I'm Jealous:-(

Holy ****! I just looked up the history on the company. Thomas Smith & Sons of Saltley Ltd. What a freaking awesome story. I love this freaking website! You guys are AWESOME!
