Strut for Toolbox Casters?

I have a US general 5 drawer toolbox. Everytime I go over a bump, whole toolbox bumps, even with giant casters.

This got me thinking, is there some sort of shock strut assembly for toolbox casters I might be able to mount to my box to casters? Any examples of where I can buy them.

This is adding a strut shock assembly to an already existing caster that doesn't have one.

You don't need suspension shocks. What you need are caster wheels with a softer tread compound.

Measure the wheel diameter and the bolt spacing of the top mounting flanges and we'll go from there.

You can buy casters like snap on has on their high end boxes with a spring. Works well but you'll spend more on the casters than what the cart and most of the tools in it cost.

I mean, it's a rigid metal box filled with metal things **** up against other metal things. It doesn't really matter what casters you have, it's gonna "bump" when you go over bumps.

You can buy shock absorbing replacement caster assemblies, really cheap ones are around $150 a set. But I don't think you can buy any sort of addon, maybe you could fab something to sandwich a spring between the caster top plate and a new plate where it used to mount. Maybe I should make and sell them.

Last link has tons of caster parts and types.

how about some wheels with inflatable tires. I know on on my gorilla utility cart with pneumatic tires it is super smooth even going over gravel.

I have a kobalt toolbox I got from Lowes or Home Depot and the 5 inch wheels disintegrated. In the comment section for reviews, someone mentioned Caster City has affordable replacement casters

www.castercity.com and look for toolbox in the searchbar

Dont use a rubber wheel, use a polyurethane like I did. Rubber will flatten unless you don't have a large box or a lot of tools.
