stub outs for new shop

Hey guys, i am in the process of putting up a 30 x 40 pole barn and had a couple questions. I will be adding electrical, water, cable tv, etc as funds allow but want to stub out conduit before slab is poured. My question is how far away do i need to run my cable tv wire etc. from the electircal wiring to not have any interference or is that even an issue? Is one trench from the house to garage going to be sufficiant for water, electrical, cable tv or should I dig multiple trenches. Just trying to get an idea of what i am looking at. Thanks.

Twelve inches on parallel runs (the separation can be in either dimension X or Y) and 6 inches on crossings, which should be at 90 degrees.

check with your local building department, most have requirements for vertical and horizontal seperation for water/electric/tel in a common trench.

Unless your being inspected and local codes say otherwise I would dig a 3 ft deep trench and use seprate conduict for water, electric and tv spaced about 5-6 inches apart. Put electric or water on bottom and tv on top. But thats just my opinion, let the code junkie's chime on in and quote if they care too. Cable TV is generally not affected much with low voltage AC so its really not an issue. I would worry more about your door bell transformer causing interferrance than any underground line running close to my cable line. Its done all the time. The only other issue I would concern myself with wou;ld be the possiblity of someone digging into the underground lines, if so go deeper but deffinatly use conduit on all, too cheap not to and can save a bunch of trouble if they ever do go bad. But not likley when conduit used. Good luck

There is no seperation distance required ,other then those required by the utlility company for their own stuff. If you are running your electric in one conduit and the catv / telephone in another there will no issue putting them next to each other. When the utilities are ran to your home they are all run in the same ditch as far as power,telephone,and catv.
