This morning I wandered into Lowe's and found their closeout section. Picked up the following:

Kobalt stubby SAE combo wrenches, 7/16-3/4", $5.04
Kobalt 5/16" combo power cross, $2.04
Kobalt 1/4" SAE plastic socket rack, $3.04
Kobalt 3/8" magnetic socket rack, $3.04

Not screamin' deals or quality but useful to me. The stubby combos will probably go in my travel tool bag. Wish they included 5/16", 11/32", and 3/8", which I use a LOT, but at <$1USD per wrench they might come in handy some time. I've fondled the PowerCross stuff before, but never wrenched with it; this will be an experiment. The larger sizes I eyeballed weren't broached very accurately. And on A.N. hardware, one rarely uses a enough torque to hurt your hand, so the slim Snappy's are my go-to's in the shop. I'll post back once I've had a chance to evaluate the quality.

I've got a couple of these plastic socket racks already, they're useful, and this one will pick up some oddball/specialty sockets.

And I've got a couple of these magnetic socket racks in 1/4" (which is 85% of the sockets I use, except for sparkplugs). I find this a handy way to slap a selection of sockets onto the service cart.

In all, not bad for some stuff I'll get some use out of, especially the storage items.

I picked up a Kobalt Stubby SAE set for $8.99 on clearance down from $24.99. You may want to be on the look out for that set.

Stay away from the magnetic socket racks if they are the ones I am thinking of. They will barely hold themselves up.

You gotta screw them into something.:bounce:

The kobalt stuff is well made in my opinion especially the taiwanese stuff. I don't like the magnetic rails though...not at all.
