Stuck jigsaw shaft

Had a friend give me a Milwaukee 6256 jigsaw because the end of the cord was cut off.

I fixed the cord, but it has been sitting around for a while, and the shaft that goes up and down is frozen. I sprayed some penetrant on it, but no go so far.

Before I start pounding on it, or disassembling, I thought I would check to see if anyone else had fixed this problem before, or had any brilliant ideas.

why do you think its frozen? Are you trying to move it by hand? It looks like it's at top dead center, which could make it feel like that.

Yes, I squeeze the trigger and the motor revs up, but no movement. I didn't want to run it to much and screw it up further. I will probably shoot more penetrant on it, and let it soak for a while. If that doesn't help, I will disassemble.

Ayuh,.... Sounds like the gearbox is stripped out,...

There should be a direct mechanical connection, 'tween the motor, 'n the shaft,...

If the Motor spins up , I'm guessing a drive pin has sheared in the box
Had a hedge cutter do the same , ended up in the bin... BER

Open the gear box. Something is stripped to broken
May be an easy or cheap fix....or it may be death.
