Stuck snap ring - Craftsman intermediate flex head

I picked up a intermediate Cressman flex head at a yard sale. Three of the teeth are shattered and I have a feeling one that is stuck in the track where the flex ring rides. Any tips or tricks to get it off? I have soaked it in penetrating oil and moved it around as much as I could but still I cannot get it off.
