Has anyone on here ever seen a Studebaker C-Clamp like this? I'm torn between it being part of the Studebaker vise company product line or something from Studebaker Brothers / Corp. of wagon/buggy/automobile fame...

If anything, more likely the vise guys. The car guys made very little apart from the cars (and military trucks.)

Doc.

That's my initial thought.. however this was found at auction in South Bend.. and based on the age of the clamp..

Its possible that some tool maker or blacksmith still around made a few of these. Studebaker had a large contingent of tool makers, and did much of their own work including machining, casting, stamping, forging, etc..

I've seen foundries who give projects like this to apprentices when work is slack..
