I have a new Bendpak XPR-10s. I raised the arms up the other day to get them out of the way while I put down my racedeck flooring and now the arms won't go down.

I push in the red safety bar on the column and then push down on the handle at the pump and they start to come down but stop.

How do i get them down? Do they need weight on them to go down?

It could also be that the safety latch cable has stretched a little. Lift you arms and see if you can get your locks to fully disengage. If not then you can tighten them up. There should be a small cable clamp that can be adjusted with an hex wrench.

Seems like R. Deschain is on the right track. I would check the end of the safety latch cable on the other post, not the power post. See if it came off or is stretched.

It sounds like, while you are doing what you are supposed to do to get the lift off its safety locks, it is not actually happening, so the lift is settling back down onto its safety locks when you start moving down.
