Take some more picture with the compressor and line up to original location. Besides, the picture is blurry.

That is the line that runs from the in tank check valve side fitting, to the pressure switch, which is designed to dump the pressure on the pump head when the compressor shuts down. The line is sometimes run from a small port on the pump head rather than the in tank check valve. The piece on the end of the line is the small relief valve and plunger than the pressure switch activates, when the pressure switch moves to off.

if you drained "mud water" out of the tank fill it up with water and pressurize it to the max pressure of the compressor and then some (e.g. 150 psi for a 120psi cutoff) from a safe distance and in an open field.

better to have it blow up in a field than in your shop or next to you.

Or just get a new or better looking tank

Ayuh,.... Find a short length of soft copper of that diameter, 'n put it back together the way it was,....

that's the idea...but not sure where to find this same thing. I should invest in a tube flaren tool

You just need the copper and a new ferrel. Or just get a new nut and ferrel they may be packaged together.
Go to Home Depot, there's an isle with brass fitting individually packaged, the part you seek is hanging there.

I had a similar thing happen with an old Craftsman. I had enough length in the line that I cut it back just a bit, and then used and old flaring tool to repair it. It's held up fine ever since. So you need a new piece of copper, (since yours is kinked) a new furl, and a flaring tool for the other end.

I think I'd take the advice about checking the integrity of the tank though.
