I have a t72 and a tl72. It seems I never use the short one, I always grab the long one first - I dont really use a 1/4" drive much anyway. Can I buy a rebuild kit for a FC72 and swap it directly into my t72?

I don't have a direct response to your question, but if you can do it, I certainly would. Not that you need to be sold on the idea. My fc72 is by far one of my favorite tools.

The swap will work as long as you buy a new cover plate I'm not sure if that still comes in the fc72s repair kit it did in the past though.

yes it's a direct swap though I've read somewhere here that they don't ship the cover plate with the rebuild kits anymore. you may have to buy that separately.

Yes you can do it, thats what I did with one of my ratchets.
You need to order the cover plate, FC72-2 and rebuild kit RKRFC72.
Pictured is my TF72 on the left, and my Bahco 1/4 ratchet on the right which did not get much use.. which is why i put the 3/8 kit in it... now I use it quite a bit. Its handy!
