I have a 20x28 space i am thinking about doing racedeck in, a 1/4-1/2" gap is advised on the 20' sides (the long side wont be close to a wall on either side)... So 28 tiles wide would be too wide and 27 would be way short.... Do people cut the tiles down on one side by an inch? I.e cut the 28th tile to leave a gap? Also what about the male pieces sticking out one one side?

You would need 560 tiles. Two ways to do it. Standing outside the garage looking in working left to right, garage door back. I personally would start with a flat (male side) facing to the left and to the door. I'd make one cut off the right side and rear row. Some people center it and take half off the left and half off the right. Twice as much work but more centered. 6" maybe. 1" nope

Remember you will have edges on the front too. So you will cut a little more off the back than you might think

That makes sense thanks for the help! Garage has two single doors then extends to the right an additional 8ft, so cutting on the right side makes perfect sense

The Racedeck web site has a floor designer that you can use and when you make up the pattern you want it will automatically tell you how many of each tile you will need to do that particular floor pattern. When you "submit" the creation to them they will get back to you with a quote as to the cost.

We offer RaceDeck and would be happy to provide a quote if you PM me the details. We sell it by the tile so you can get exactly what you need. RaceDeck also sells direct and does a great job taking care of forum members
