Sub-Panel feed through firewall

Hey All,
I'm planning to install a 60amp sub-panel in my attached garage. The main panel is located in the basement, directly on the other side of the wall that is shared by the house and garage. The basement sits about 5 feet below the garage floor level, so running the feed is very short, maybe 8 feet including turns.

I was wondering what options I have to bring the wires through the shared wall, while still maintaining the integrity of the firewall. I'll be running all of the light and outlets in 3/4 EMT, so that is one option, but I'm not ruling other types out.

If I were to run the 3/4 EMT, how would I bring it through the drywall? Maybe a junction box surface mounted with conduit into the back, and then out the side to the sub-panel?

Thanks very much,
Andrew
