Depends on how close to the ground, 250.64(A) prohibits terminating Al conductors with 18" of the earth

Thanks. Good to know about separate spools. I am confused with RHH, RHW-2 vs XHHW terminology. Are they the same?

The main difference is RHH/RHW-2/USE-2 is direct bury and the XHHW-2 isn't.

So I don't see a (on wire&cable site) 1/0-1/0-1/0-4 AL SER cable. I see one with #2 ground. If I go with this, for my basement portion ( 72 ft)of the run. Should the ground for my individual XHHW-2 1/0 AL conductors run (3) be a #2 as well or is it OK to go with a #4 which would be stepping down in size within the total run of 200 lf? Thanks
