Sub Panel In Attached Garage

I would like to run a 50 amp sub panel into my attached garage. Between the main panel and sub panel location is an unfinished basement and a kitchen that’s built on slab. I would like the feed wire to go through a conduit on the outside of the house. The sub panel will eventually be in a finished sheetrocked wall. Couple questions:
• What’s the best way to accomplish this?
• Should I run conduit the entire way from panel to panel or only on the outside of the house?
• Would I be able to pull the cable through all the elbows needed to go straight into the box with conduit?
• What size conduit? Technically only need 1” but thinking bigger would be better?

Is the conduit outside going to be above or below ground? Either way I'd probably go panel to panel with conduit and use THWN or XHHW wire. 1" conduit is fine for up to four #4's XHHW Al for 50A. Use an LB conduit body for the turn to have a pull point if needed, if the turn is above ground into the house basement.

Thanks for the info! The conduit will remain above ground, about 2 feet above grade.

If you opt for copper, you're going to need #8s and a #10 ground, and the conduit you'll need is only 3/4"

You don't provide a location of the installation.

How long is the distance between panel and sub-panel?

The total run is about 60’ between the panels. Plan on using copper wires. Seems like conduit the entire run is the way to go. 3/4 will be fairly flexible which should help in alignment to the panels.
