Hey guys,

In my ATTACHED garage i have my main 200 AMP panel on the outside corner of the garage. About 15 feet down from that on the INSIDE of the garage is a 50 AMP RV Plug (4 wire).

I would like to put in some outlets both 220 and 110 for running tools etc. My welder plugs in the 50 AMP RV outlet so i dont need an outlet for that.
I am thinking about tying off the RV plug with a sub panel right next to it. The RV plug is 220 volt and has dual 50 amp breakers in the main panel.

I was thinking about either fishing wires though wall or using metal conduit..any suggestion on which is better?

Is there anything wrong with what i want to do?

What do i need to do to pass code?
Do i need to have an inspector come look at it?

I am pretty handy with stuff so i really dont want to hire someone. I am a semi newb, have wired up plenty of ceiling fans, lights tools etc..

Thanks!

EDIT: I also have quite a few open spaces on my main panel that if i cut hole in drywall behind it i could get access to.

Use the 220V 50 amp feed to the RV outlet into sub-panel next to it then run your garage circuits including the RV outlet out of the sub panel.

I'm running my entire pole barn off a 220V 40 Amp feed that was once my welder outlet in the attached garage and extended it out to my Pole barn to a sub panel with 8 different circuits including a 220V 30 Amp for a future air compressor.
