Sub panel location

Just a quick question about placement.

I've attached my pole lay out and was wondering if I placed the sub panel in the red circle next to the garage door if that meets code. The blue line is how the power will be run to the garage. I think it should meet the 30" width and definitely meet the 36" require for in front of it.

What ya think? I think it would make use of a not very useful corner and save on some wire costs too.

If you are subject to electrical inspections you should ask your local inspection department. To me it would be fine but you never know about what an inspector may think.

Looks OK to me. Putting it behind where a door opens is actually a good idea, it ensures that junk won't get piled up in front of the panel.

That looks pretty much identical to where I placed mine.

Thanks guys. Although the inspector has the final say... There may be more practical reasons that an inspector may not consider

I think it should meet the 30" width

The width requirement includes the panel itself. It's taken from the far edge of the panel.
You can't have any non-electrical related things directly below the panel's "footprint". Also prohibited are any protrusions over 6", measured from the panel's front.
