I have a 200 amp main panel in house, 50' away in garage I have a 100 amp sub panel which is feeding a modine hot dawg heater and garage lighting. Now I have a small pole building about 125' behind garage and I'm wondering if I can pull off garage sub panel to feed the pole building panel. The biggest reason for doing this would be less disruption to lawn, landscape and a direct route to pole bldg. since garage is north end of house and new bldg is north of garage.

^ ^ ^ This. Provide GJ Sparky's with list of equipment/load you plan to have in the pole building (ie Sub/Sub panel). While you're at it, tell them what you have NOW in the garage with existing 100A subpanel. Is that buried 4 wire feed all up to code . . . or is it Aerial ??

Existing garage has Modine hot dog and lighting/oulets nothing extreme. new building may/will have 60 gallon compressor, small drill press,190 amp mig welder,8"bench grinder, Modine hot dawg furnace and lighting. The underground wiring and panel with breaker size is the part I need help figuring out. I'm an Hvac mech/pipefitter so I will do the work to code and have built this hose and bldg. with all utilities.

Spend some time determining the exact wattage of each appliance, heater, light etc. Add them all up, divide by 240 and there is your actual amperage load. But only add whatever you'll be using at the same time.
