We have water rights where I live. I can flood my archer 1 or 2 times in the summer and some years even more depending whats available. This is my first time in this house and I am the last one at the end of the canal. My property seems to be much higher than the canal compared to the others in line. The previous owner had one 6'' pipe set real high at the top of the canal to flow into the yard. However I can water one time during the weekend and the idea is to flood the whole yard. He did set it up with a slight trench that runs around the border of the property first from that pipe. I was thinking of running more 6'' pipe, but now I am considering running one or two Sub pumps. Then I might just fill the canal half way instead of just a foot from the top that is close to flooding out the highway in front of my house.
Can I run a 1/2 hp or a 3/4 hp pump off a small generator that runs up to 800 to 900 watts like the tailgator from Harbor freight. I already own one of the old models of this generator from them under a different name and it runs great. I was able to power a small force fan heater of around the same wattage. It was labeled as 800 on low.
