subpanel info

I know I will hear, hire a proffesional, so please don't say it, LOL

can someone direct me where I can get some good free info on how to wire a panel into the detached garage from the house?(I know lowes sells some good books, but $$$)

I've wired all sorts of 110v and some 220v. I double and sometimes triple check for the 220v, I take NO chances when working with 220 and making sure there is no power.
Any how, I don't know all the correct terms for doing so, but looking for the best way to do this.

Been a long time since I've been in a library and don't know if they carry books on wiring but you could give your local library a try.

Do a search on the web for "How to install a subpanel", you'll get a lot of info.

Hit up half price books. You can get some pretty nice and helpful books for cheap.

When you come up with a plan run it by this forum first. Sometimes those self help books have some funny ways of installing electrical and can be a little dated or out of touch on what's required now.
