I have dug around in the NEC and can't find where it says I can/can't mount it there.. Just trying to do it right the FIRST time..

As long as you have 30 inches of clearance and don't build anything under or in front of it your good to go.

The door swings the other way so thats not an issue...

U will have to move that stuff in front of the area out of the way...

Behind the door is usually a better place for a panel, it will not accumulate debris to block access to it. The door is not a issue.
