I'm planning a subpanel to power and light my garage. The home's main 200A service panel is in the garage, but all spaces are filled (including a number of tandem breakers). I plan to use a few more tandem breakers to free up enough space to add a 70 to 100A DP breaker to power the subpanel.
Are there any limitations for how close the subpanel can be installed to the main panel? I hope to install mine in the stud bay right adjacent to the stud bay containing the main panel...
Are there any restrictions for spacing between the subpanel or main panel and a new 220v outlet?
