Subscribing to threads when you start or post to a new thread

I would like to offer a suggestion.
I think it would be helpful if a member that starts a new thread or a member that posts to a thread are automatically subscribed to the thread.

there is a setting in USER CP to do just that

Why? You can personally subscribe to any thread you choose, we don't need big brother doing it for us.

(By virtue of your "helpful suggestion" , I'd now be auto-subscribed to this thread simply by replying... and this isn't a thread in which I have a high level of continuing interest. )

Puget Dude not as The Cobbler suggested. Unless you have that above option enabled you are not subscribed. I for one like using that new option.
