Hello!

Long time Lurker! I have been semi-obsessed with this forum for a few years now. I have learned that it is a special group, of which I am part of, that is blessed with the attention to detail to part of a dwelling that few people care about. I often stair into garages as I pass them by always curious, and oblivious to all other features of the house. Are you with me here???

So thank you to many people on this board for inspiration, confidence and fun that you have given me over the last couple of years. I stole most, if not all of my ideas from you!

Ok onto the garage. I am a suburban dweller with an active family. I can not put in a shed due to HOA rules in my neighborhood. I think this will explain why my 3 car garage is Suburban and a home for A LOT of things. I recently bought a 2016 JKU which motivated me to take back my garage and start my refurb of it. This is what I started with

So the first part of the project was to clean out and start painting. I painted ceiling first then hung a saferack to get some clutter off the ground!

The next step was painting the walls. This has been a very tedious process as I have to move too many things around to get to each wall. But it has been well worth it. I used Behr paint and used the tips from this board of sealing the tape with the base paint.

the next step was adding some cabinets. I looked at quite a few options and went back and forth on a couple different options. I was thinking Gladiator when i started but after some consideration on cost and what I would be using them for I decided on the Ulti-Mate cabinets. They were very easy to assemble and put up.

Looks good so far. Can I ask what colors you used for the paint? I have been looking a grays for weeks trying to pick.

Thanks! I used
-Behr Pencil point on the bottom
-Glidden Cherry Red
-Behr Dark Pewter on the top.

the Dark Pewter actually covered very well in one coat. The red took me 5 coats! If anybody puts red in there garage or elsewhere the pewter or silver paint was much easier to paint over with red than the primer/yellow coat of paint that was on my walls. this bled through.

I was trying to match it or "compliment" my JKU color below. The JKU has a red painted suspension and my JKU is Granit in color. did not match exact but I still am happy with the way it turned out.

I will post more pictures of the other walls later this weekend.

Quick update. I was able to complete the painting of all the walls in the garage. I will have better picture of all of it when time comes. The main motivation behind this garage renovation was to get the top off my jeep before the summer was up. IMG_2228.jpg
