I was pretty pissed that the builder justified the tire marks on my new 40X60 slab as my responsibility to clean. I searched the internet and these forums for a solution and found most people shared my frustration as this is very common. Still pissed but made a cocktail that works.
2 gallons water and 1 gallon muriatic acid in a 5 gallon bucket. Doesn't matter if the floor is dry or wet, same result. It takes the top layer off and you are left with a clean, dry and barely coarse finish. Staining mine but you could seal the finished product after rinsing it once more to remove the sandy residue.
Here is a short video to show how simple it was.
Keep in mind this will take you 8 hours start to finish on a 40X60. I hope this helps those like me who weren't sure how to remove the tire marks. I will post the finished stain results in my gallery thread.
