I'd like to buy a set of the metric XL ratcheting wrenches but I've heard that you can't warranty them, unless bought from a tool truck. Has anyone successfully warrantied one of these wrenches? I'm thinking it would be a better value to pay a little more for the Carlyle of Icon versions. If I go with Mountain I would buy from Zoro.

What makes you think you’ll break it?

All extra long flex head ratcheting wrenches fail regardless of whose name is stamped on it because, techs are going to lean on them pushing the wrenches beyond their capabilities. I'm not sure of warranty support Harbor Freight will offer on Icon versions.

You can look at these wrenches two ways. buy a set with a great warranty like Carlyle, truck brand or and independent truck dealer that hopefully won't go out of business anytime soon.

Secondly, you can realize that the wrench will eventually fail and realize that when it fails, you'll buy a replacement on your dime.

I believe these are identical to the icon set which I own, haven’t had to warrantee one yet but as long as there is a harbor freight nearby you should be able to count on that.

icon is 199 , carlyle is 245 in real deals this month.
Both currently easy warranty, perhaps icon be easier for those without napa account or a local Napa store that not helpful .
If you can get a coupon/promotion on icon then it be real good .
Mountain is pretty much no likely easy warranty and you be jumping through hoops or paying shipping fees perhaps .
All are same kabo manufacture .

I was unable to when my 13/15 was defective right out of the box. Mountain said it wasn't purchased through an approved supplier, so my wrench which turned zero fasteners was my problem.

I did manage to warranty a steelman wrench which had the reversing lever fall off, I saved approx. $4 vs. buying a new one after mailing it to them. When another lever broke, I just gave up.

I got an Icon set exactly because of this - no BS on the warranty

I have had a Mountain brand set for like 5 years bought from Cornwell. Paid for itself long ago, if one breaks I will go buy the Icon set.

Autozone sells mountain on their commercial side so you could buy them from Autozone. I would talk to a manager or a comercial manager at one of their stores. A typical red shirt employee may not know how to find and order that.
