Sugard USA Hand drill

Picked up this hand drill today which appears to be a late style Millers Falls #2 except for the black painted crank and side handles, nickel plated drive gear, and "SUGARD USA" stamped on the crank. It is in near new condition and has 3 drill bits in the hollow handle. I've never seen the SUGARD trademark before and can't find anything on this maker. Anyone ever seen it? Could this be someone who bought up the unfinished inventory of M-F after they went out of business?

It's "Sogard" rather than "Sugard".
