So I've saw this old Craftsman CF-87 on eba for the longest time and just had to save it. It has great petina but as you can see the pressed steel on the ratcheting side has been separated.

Question: if I were to drill out the rivets and straighten the pressed steel that is bent how would I go about riveting the pressed steel to the ratchet once again?

What tools would I use and wha type of rivet (not sure rivet is the proper term)?

I would like to do it right so is it somethig I should attempt or would a machinist be the bes ones to replace the rivets?

Thank you.

I can custom make you some rivets to match, but I would need the ratchet to do it. As far as being "EXACTLY" identical.....it would be very close. But I don't have an orbital riveter which is most likely what was used, but then again possibly not. I can make any rivet punch to match though. PM me.
