I'm looking to pick up a 1/2" cordless impact wrench. The current front runner in my considerations is an IR W7150, but I'd like to hear suggestions and recommendations anyone else has.
Presently, I'm pretty deep in Craftsman's C3 line of tools. I was near to considering getting into another line, until I got some of their 4.0Ah XCP battery packs. Those have been amazing, and have breathed new life into some very old cordless tools. I like battery interchangeability amongst my tools as much as possible, but I have no reason to realistically expect craftsman to release a 1/2" impact that can compete on the same power level as Dewalt, IR, Milwaukee, etc., so it looks like I am going to have to have yet another type of battery amongst my cordless tools.
I do have a 1/2" craftsman cordless impact wrench, and it is a good, handy tool, but it simply is not a high power impact. I will likely continue to use it for light/medium duty stuff, as I have many batteries, and my service truck has a mobile charger for this battery line, thus when I am mobile, the batteries for my high power cordless impact will be reserved for those high torque needs (truck cab is full up on chargers, these batts will need charged up back at HQ).
I do always have an air compressor with me, but I have a lot of stops where it's only a few heavy fasteners, and just not worth the time to roll out hose and start the compressor.
Just looking for suggestions. A big bonus point is anyone that has put a brushless motor in it.
