I started with a 10x24 Logan 210, then a Sheldon 10x52, a seriously nice lathe. I settled on a South Bend 13x72 and have been very happy with it. The ability to use 5C collets is great.

For those with a 9x20 or even a 10x22 there is a forum dedicated to that machine. It was a Yahoo forum with a huge following and large data base of modification and DIY attachment build files. It seems to have lost a lot if not all of those files when Yahoo forums shut down but there are still plenty of active users.

Did the OP get a lathe?

Or, is it like me - a multi year plan?
I have been collecting metrology on the side and, other tooling but no big machines yet. PM is been the front runner for me unless some south bend or KT planer, do all etc falls into my lap as a gift. That being said if anyone is in gifting mood please pm me.
Thanks,
John McA
