Suggestions for a small drill driver

Not sure the common name for what I'm after, but I'm looking for a new quarter inch bit holding/driver thingy.

http://www.homedepot.com/buy/black-decker-36-volt-1-4-in-cordless-lithium-smartdriver-li4000.html

The link above is very similar to what I had, and it worked for, probably 4-5 years or better, so no big complaints there, but it literally fell apart. I use it nearly every day for dash disassembly or fender liners, etc. Basically lots of small screws. My biggest problem with the B&D was speed. Just a bit slow for shop use. I'd rather not go the Snap On route, as it seems $180 is a bit steep for a quarter inch driver! Experiences, suggestions?

Thanks

The Bosch or the Milwaukee. I have a Milwaukee driver and impact driver. I love the impact. The driver is great for going in, but man that impact saves me time/headaches tearing stuff apart

Man of few words, but you make a pretty sound argument. Price is right, features look great, I believe it sounds too good not to try. And the 100+ reviews on Amazon with such good marks. I like the replaceable batteries, the clutch, and a built in LED. Thanks much for this suggestion!

You should enjoy it, the clutch should make driving interior automotive screws a breeze. I also have the mini-impact that goes with it which is nice for general construction work, but I couldn't see a need for it unless you want to strip out screws on a dash.

You may also need to get new bits if your current set doesn't have an indent for a lock, like this:

or at least get a bit holder. (it does come with a philips and regular bit though)

I haven't used the Makita shown above - I'm sure it works great - but I own both the Bosch and Milwaukee 12v drivers and impacts (they both actually run 10.8 volts. ) and use them every day.

I can fully recommend either. I like the feel of the Milwaukees slightly better, but the latest generation Boschs are faster and more powerful.

For driving screws these are great. Long screws in wood, get the impact. Shorter screws the driver is fine. They are pretty limited for drilling, although I have drilled some holes with them.
