i have the otc set and if you add in all the extra cups and pushers i bought for it $600 is cheap if BJP1 comes with EVERYTHING. dodge trucks up here in the rust belt are a PITA, so get ready to double up on the pushers and cups for them.

I have a 95 Dodge diesel 3/4 ton 4x4, what do you suggest for ball joint removal? My understanding is these trucks need pretty heavy duty tools for doing any work on front end components.

The above link is for Snap On's youtube advert for the BJP1. The advertisement claims this 15 piece set can do 99% of all domestic ball joints & "many" foreign applications. They may be right, but it's hard to believe a small set like that can handle all those applications. It goes for $655, (w/tax: $694 in my state.)

The OTC #6559 72 piece set is described here:

http://www.otctools.com/products/ball_joint_master_service_kit

At the following site, for 10% more money than the BJP1 you can get the 6559. $760 incl. tax & shipping:

Yeah, it takes up space in your tool box or wherever, but I'm trying to fathom how a 15 piece set can out-perform, as far as the range of applications it can handle, a 72 piece set.

Whoa--here's a site that sells the 6559 for 2% more (incl shipping & tax) than the BJP1:

I have the OTC 7249 set,http://www.tooltopia.com/otc-tools-7249.aspx, with an Astro Pneumatic AST7868 adapter set. It's a PITA juggling the press and three or four adapter parts to get it to work. I know where there is a BJP1 in a pawnshop, it just needs to set there for a few more months to "ripen" so the price goes down.

anyone used that BJP1 on a 3rd gen dodge ram 2500 ball joint? I got the OTC kit, forget number, to do it. Don't remember it being a pain, went pretty smooth.
