I am tired of cheap poorly fitting work gloves from my local big box stores so I am looking for a good pair of leather gloves that will hold up well, I also would prefer them to be made in USA. I do a lot of work outdoors cutting brush and such. I cannot find much good information and was wondering if anyone here had any good brands to look at or things to consider.

Not made in the USA, but the Milwaukee demolition gloves are the best I've bought out of years of trying. Far better than the industrial mechanix gloves lowes sell for $35 a pair, and they ALL split at the seams.. I use my Milwaukee's everyday at work for months and they take a real beating. On my second pair after loosing my first. The first set I had for 9 months before I lost them and they had no rips at all. My second pair I've used daily since then, and they are just starting to wear to the point of the material has small holes.. I'll post a pic I have of my first pair.. took the picture a day or two before I lost them, so this is 9 months of use every weekday..

EDIT: If you want to give non leather gloves a try that is. I use them for yard work but I don't have anything with thorns or thistles or anything where leather is a must.

I'll second the demolition gloves. Best gloves I've used yet. First pair is still kicking. No holes, no torn seams. Very dirty, a lot of the grippy bits on the palms have come off but they still work great. The secret features on them are nice too. They have a touch sensitive knuckle for using your phone. Way better than touch sensitive finger tip. You finger is pretty much always dirty but the knuckle has a chance of not wiping dirt/mud/CV grease on your screen. It also has a soft absorbent patch on the heel of your thumb for wiping sweat.

I bought a second pair for wearing on clean jobs as I was leaving black hand prints on everything.

Not leather, but a cheap alternative are these Gorilla Grip style gloves I found on eBay. The price of $15 is for 12 pair. I use these for professional landscaping and they're awesome. Use them for a month or so, then toss em. At $1.25 a pair it's not an issue. They're actually quite durable. Just thought I'd mention it. Big leather gloves are usually only good for holding things, not intricate work. https://www.ebay.com/itm/111415551076

I use similar gloves, dynema terminators. They work so much better than leather, cut proof, and washable with great dexterity. They are not great in the cold however.

My vote goes to kunz driver style gloves. You will not find a better pair of leather gloves. I wear gloves 8-10 hours a day 6 days a week usually. These glove hold up great and are made in USA.

I use the same but the ones I buy are cheaper and are made of a thin nylon shell with nitrille palm. And last about two weeks per pair doing tree work daily.

For $10 a pair Schmidt Men's General Utility Medium Duty Work Gloves at TSC are a decent choice. Have reinforced fingertips and padded palms and strap cuff. Their are other style to. Large cuff ones and even some of goatskin leather.

Just my 2 cents on some of the previously mentioned gloves. Gorilla Grips are one my favorites for working at greenhouse really tear resistant dry wicked fast when wet. Thin and lightweight and real good for warm weather.

Those Nitrile coated ones are great too. I use a foam nitrile for my garage work, a little too much for really warm weather but great on cooler days. I have bundle of the Liberty G grip 4600 of course there are different thicknesses available too. Unbelievable how much finger dexterity you can have wearing a pair of gloves with those.

I sell loads of the rubbery latex coated knit ones both in insulated like Artic Guards and the uninsulated style at my flea mkt tool gig. They hold up pretty good for rough work For $5.00 a pair and under nobody much complains :D
