Suggestions for Hi Vis Jacket?

Not sure if a jacket is considered a tool, if not feel free to re-post in the correct forum.

Winter is almost here and I need a good quality High Visibility work jacket. The last one that I had barely lasted through the winter before literately falling apart, almost as if the threads were designed to disintegrate after a predetermined number of washing's. I need something warm, wind and water proof as well as resistant to abrasion and snagging. not too heavy and allows freedom of movement.
Any suggestions would be appreciated

I think Carhartt is your best bet, their stuff is pricy but indestructible.

I have been very happy with Safetyline products. Their "tow" jacket is about the best I have seen or used. Plus they have many other hi viz products, and made in the USA.

I hate the selection of Hi Vis jackets so when I need one I will use my own jacket and throw on a Hi Vis vest.

Uniform co like ones that supply work clothes at yer work place usually supply very good quality stuff. But I agree getting a good jacket and then adding a vest is the way I would go. Unless your workplace doesn't allow that.

I have this one from Tingley and while the water resistance is outstanding, I'd like something more breathable. For instance, this would be miserably hot in a summer rainstorm, but the quilted lining makes it great for winter temps.

Also, if you use a radio, the pocket on these is shallow and has a weak velcro closure. Better to get a radio strap and use a lapel mic if you can.

I've had this for 2yrs and it's holding up well in terms of stitching, etc. The only repairs it needed were the result of me abusing it.

Last thing- the front hand pockets don't close, so there really only good for a quick cold break for ungloved hands.

I use a company called reflective apparel, its pricey but I get a company discount to bring the prices down quite a bit. I generally get one year and the threads start to wear, but it gets abused quite a bit, climbing up and down rail cars etc.. I will say, the model I have is warm and has lots of pockets.
