Hey all,
I got a really good deal (can't beat FREE!) on some old kitchen cabinets for my new garage. Right now, I'm in the process of painting them up and getting them ready for installation. I do not have countertops yet so I am either going to make my own of buy a 12' premade piece from Menard's. When I install the countertops, I was thinkng about making my own parts washer using an old sink we have in the basement.

Any suggestions on how I should go about plumbing this up? I assume that the sink should drain into a container below the counter where the pump is located. Do I need to worry about having a filter or p-trap? My plan was to mount a receptacle under the counter with a switch above to control the pump.

Any suggestions and ideas would be appreciated!
Thanks!

You will need a pump and a resovoir. Decide what kind of solvent you want to use. Buy a pump suited to the solvent. Mount the pump in the cabinet next door to isolate it from the resovorr Mount the resovoir under the sink and plumb the drain of the sink into the tank. Plumb from the tank to the inlet of the pump, and from the outlet to the fixture on the sink. Filtering is optional put use a screen in the drain to catch the big stuff.
