Trying to figure out the pros/cons for placement of the head unit on the mini-split I'm fixing to get.

The condenser will be located at the rear of the garage, out of sight from the street. If I drop the head unit in where the blue arrow is, the lineset will be a straight shot. However I'm concerned about airflow reaching the far left of the garage.

If I install the head unit on the wall where the black arrow is, I will need to run longer lines and and possibly have more bends.

Thoughts/suggestions on placement?

I'd go with the black arrow wall, but down nearer the car a bit so that if you're working at the bench you are not in a cold or hot draft, you should be able to run the pipework out of the left hand side of the indoor unit, get some small line set cover/trunking and then drill through in the corner of the blue wall then run pipes across and down or down and across to the outdoor unit.
You should be able to run the drain inside the trunking inside and then run it down as soon as it gets outside. Make sure the drain is the lowest thing in the trunking and is level or slightly pitched downwards.
