Suggestions for VCT tile over epoxy paint

I put 2-part epoxy paint on my garage floor about 8 years ago. It has held up pretty good, a few spots flaked up. I wanted to put a checkerboard VCT tile on top of it. I am looking for suggestions regarding prep.

Has anyone put VCT tile over there existing epoxy paint and if so what problems or what prep did you do.

I appreciate any advice and thanks in advance.

Give it a light sanding or use a Diamabrush. If the epoxy is well adhered, should be ok.

But...any adhesive can only stick to what's under it so if the epoxy comes up so will the tiles which can be fixed if needed.
