Im looking for some Wrench Holders that will allow me to put my
combination wrenches in the SHALLOW/THIN drawers of my Snap-On
KRL Box.

Id like something MORE EFFICIENT in its use of space than these things
(from northern tool) that im using...i just dont know WHICH product will
be narrow enough to clear the drawers, when a wrench is in place, and not
hit the drawer above when closed

the drawers are 24 inches deep & im running out of room...

I've been looking for wrench holders myself. Nothing to add to this thread, just want to see the green star later. I dig the cranberry.

djd99 - the ERNST ones look like theyd work just fine ! do you know how long they are ??
the appear to be a little different than what you have in your toolbox - ive tried whats
in your tool box & they tend to hold the wrench too high (hit the drawer).

youre using a deeper drawer, in your craftsman, than id want to use...

these look fine ! but the drawer doesnt look very deep (my drawers are 24" deep).

Go to Greytools.com and see pages 48+49 in their catalog. I like the mat for the sockets as well as the wrench holders. I don't know it they are for your thin drawers or not.

good luck!

ive got the trays already & ive tried the "gripper" racks w/ the handle,
theyre too tall for the thin drawers.

Lay em flat in the drawers. Face them alternating up and down (open end up/box end down and vs versa) and you can really pack em in.

man talk about not being able to see the forest for the trees ! :headscrat

ill probably give that a shot, at least it doesnt cost me anything while
i continue to look for a solution.

I wont go the foam cut out route, too much work for me...and ive already
got liners in the drawers so whats to lose !

ill continue to entertain options and ideas TOO !

I use a combination of the foam wrench racks from Sears, the Blue Point rubber wrench holders, and the long plastic wrench holders from Snap-on.

The 7/8 and 20mm + wrenches are the hard ones to fit was they need to lay down almost all the way.

Lay them on the edge. Most efficient use of space. just make sure you put enough so they jam against both sides of the drawer, otherwise they'll fall over. write the size on the edge with sharpie, or with a number stamp. Doesn't work with real big sizes, but good up to an inch.

Use Snap on KR15A wrench rails. They can be trimmed to fit, tailored to various sets, and there's little wasted space. The red Ernst rails pictured above are too tall. ernst makes a low profile rail but, they're not very long and are about as effective as laying the wrench down flat in the drawer. The current versions are black.

I use the Sort-a-Tool as well. I like it, but I only use it for metric because it's too hard to quickly sort out metric/SAE.

Yeah thats the thing I didnt like either, plus I have a few longer wrenches for the sae so I bought two so I could have one for each and double up on many of the sizes so Im not wasting space. I also used a dremel and ground down part of the open tray on the sae to accomadate the longer wrenches. After making the changes it works great to have both sizes in one draw and also to have 2 of the most popular sizes just in case I need two or lose one.

I just picked up a couple sets of these, at $12.50 off the Snap-on truck a set its a damn good deal. 2 sets will hold 66 wrenches.

I don't have a Snap On box to judge the depth by. But I use the Craftsman Wrench Rolls and they fit well in the 2nd shallowest drawer in my box. I have them all lined up neatly next to each other. Each roll is for a different set of wrenches. SAE, Metric, SAE Ratcheting, Metric Ratcheting, SAE Line, Metric Line, etc. I just use a silver/metallic sharpie to mark the rolled up roll as to which they are. Pull open drawer, select pouch, take away that set of wrenches.

THANKS ! just ordered a set in both sizes to try - can always order more
if they "work" out for me !

Seems like THE right solution (if theyll fit the shallow/thin drawers w/out
hitting the wrenches when the drawer closes).

thanks VERY MUCH !
