I many years ago built and rebuilt Ford Pinto's and made a pretty good living and acquired a 1977 Pinto Glass hatchback from a salvage yard. It had caught fire and the firemen ripped open the hood and crushed the cowl. I sold the engine and repaired the cowl. This was back in the 80's so I cut the backend out of this car so I could start tubbing. Well one job to another stopped all dreams. I believe now that this era of rat rods and using what you have has come into vogue. If next year improves I want to suicide door my Pinto and construct a 2x4 dropped frame thus lowering the bottom of the car between 3" and 4" off the ground. I have already constructed the motor mounts and installed a 302 with headers. When a guy is broke you have to work with what you have. The idea is to have fun.
