Sump Pump Basin Crusty mineral ring Removal

I’m cleaning out my Sump pump basin, and have a Mineral ring around the basin. It is not coming off with CLR….and Hot water. I have two 55 gal sump pump basins tied together for equalization of water. And yes my house is built on a spring. It’s time to replace the floats and the pumps, and I wanted to clean everything up before I replace the units. But, getting the Crusty ring off of the basins has been difficult at best. Any suggestions or experience would be welcomed.

CLR is pretty good stuff. Surprised it’s not working.

Maybe look into the masonry cleaners that remove efflorescence?

I’ve used this on masonry and works great.

Not sure how toxic to be dumping into groundwater.

Try muriatic acid from a spray bottle. Hopefully the pit is empty so the acid has a chance of full strength contact time.

Do you have water sample analysis? What are the predominant minerals present?

Mostly Iron & Manganese….to the best of my knowledge….

And yes I keep one of the pumps running manually so the water level stays low and I can work on removing the crusty ring. I also made a broom handle with 2 scrub brushes mounted so I can use a very course brush to try and get the crust off of the basin. I also bought some citric acid as well as the EF-Fortless to try and help with the removal process. Muriatic acid will be my last try….Thanks for the Ideas…
